Taking the scriptures in context, one must realize that there are scriptures that have to do with local and current events and scriptures that deal with events that are yet future. There are current judgments set in this age, which the scripture says will come to a close (End of the age) and those that will take place in the next age and those following. When the scripture says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die, we know that we are talking of the age when Sin rules for there will be a time when Sin no longer has rule. When we say that every knee shall bow, it is evident that this cannot take place in the current order or arrangement of things. In this way, we must rightly divide the word of truth.
Romans 5: 6-21
6 - 10 Christ died for unrighteous, ungodly, unrepentant enemies. This shows us that God is in the business of saving those who are far from him, not the righteous. Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
This should dispel the myth that God plays favorites and is only concerned
about his friends. 2Pet. 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.
12 + (CV) Sin entered the world through Adam, then death because of sin, death then passed on to all men which then causes them to sin. When Adam sinned, he became mortal (Gen 2:16, 17) "Dying thou dost die" (Young's literal) or "Dying thou shalt die" (Companion Bible). This is the dying process which results in the final event of death. Humans are not immortal until they sin, they sin because of their mortality. Oh Which - Eph ho (verse 12 is not 'for that') Children are born mortal, they do not become immortal when the first evil thought occurred.
13 - 14 Even though sin was not imputed to them, they still died before the law. This shows that Death brings sin and not the other way around.
When the scripture talks of sin bringing death, it is evident that we are not talking about the first death, which is a result of Adam's sin. Instead, we must be referring to the second death.
17 - Death reigns through one (Adam) 21 - Sin reigns (in) unto death - While we are mortal and corruptible, sin will continue to reign in our bodies of death. When we are changed, no sin will be found in us.
verse 15 - 18 equates the transgression with the restoration.
Verse 20 But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. The amount of sin superseded by grace. In this way, God insures the victory by restitution. By extension, as the Law dictates between 100-400% restitution, God's ultimate overcoming is ensured by a greater amount of grace than sin.
Verse 21 As sin has reigned throughout human history, the true age of grace will come when the fulfillment of grace will occur.
The sting of death is Sin - I Cor 15:56

Hebrews 2:14-15
Revelation 21:3-5
I Cor 15:12-28
Hebr. 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Hebr. 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
Hebr. 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Hebr. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
As we previously saw, because of Adam's sin, death passed to
all mankind which then causes us to sin, being mortal. Adam became mortal
because of his sin. We inherit this from Adam. And as a result of our
mortality, we sin. (Romans 5)
Christ, in the above verses, appeared to destroy (or put away) sin. In
order to do this, he will of necessity put away or destroy death itself.
Further, he will recreate us in an incorruptible state. This is beyond the
experience of Adam, since he was corrupted and corruptible.
1Cor. 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Cor. 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Cor. 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Cor. 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Cor. 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Cor. 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. (sin destroyed thru immortality)
1Cor. 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe that we are talking about a different event than the return of the Lord (in 1Thes 14). I Cor 15: 20-26 The Consummation of All in All.
Rev. 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Rev. 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev. 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev. 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev. 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev. 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev. 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Romans 2:5-6 ...This is the last and general resurrection of mankind. How does this fit in with the incorrupting of all?
Fire is a tool of purification. The judgment of death is eliminated in and with the Lake of Fire (2nd death). Remember that all judgment is for the purpose of purification (as the Greek root word for fire is PUR) and that all punishment is according to God's Law, which prescribes a 100-400% restitution for Sin.
2Tim. 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
2Tim. 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Hebr. 9:24
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which
are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the
presence of God for us:
Hebr. 9:25

into the holy place every year with blood of others;
Hebr. 9:26
For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:
but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the
sacrifice of himself.
Hebr. 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment:

1Cor. 15:53
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put

1Cor. 15:54
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal
shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Cor. 15:55
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
