The Obstacles - Heart Dis-ease
(troubled heart)
Matt. 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to
be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my
name's sake.

Not The Flesh
Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The most dangerous
afflication of the end times - Gall of Bitterness
Hebr. 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which

The waters of Marah - No
real trust in God or His power or sovereignty.

Gall = Opium =
Addicted to bitterness because of some perceived unfair circumstance. We
all have these. Do we respond with trust and faith or in bitterness, blaming
others and God for our unfair life. In fact, it gives us a dulling of the pain
to assign the blame to someone
else. This is part of the addiction.

Bitterness as defense
mechanism
Hebr. 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness
to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Hebr. 10:21 And having an high priest over
the house of God;

Trials and tribulations
1Pet. 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange
concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing
happened unto you:
1Pet. 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are
partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye
may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Num. 31:23 Every thing that may abide the
fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless
it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the
fire ye shall make go through the water.
Mal. 3:2 But who may abide the day of his
coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire,
and like fullers' soap:
Mal. 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as
gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in
righteousness.
Trials come to us to purify
us and build patience and holiness and he removes the dross.
How we deal with them is
very important. We can either internalize them and let them become bitter or let the dross
become burnt off.
Sulfer is burnt off and
it really smells bad.
