Heart Change:

We talked about the transformation of the Heart into a heart that manifests Christ

Birth of a city that "hath foundations, who builder and maker is God" Hebrews 11.

Joel 2 still unfulfilled. Tremendous outpouring as the beginnings of the ages of restoration begin.

Ark for himself out of by covering us with Him.

He comes to meet and travel with us. .

Our heart thus becomes the traveling place of God in the midst of the church, the nations, and the world and from there will expand to cover the earth.

Fellowship with Him is the key.

Knowing God is all important.

Tell us about God, but don't let him come near. Hard sayings

French quietists.

The Obstacles - Heart Dis-ease (troubled heart)

Matt. 24:9   Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Matt. 24:10   And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Rom. 15:29   And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

Not The Flesh

Eph. 6:12   For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Eph. 6:13   Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Eph. 6:14   Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

The most dangerous afflication of the end times - Gall of Bitterness

Hebr. 12:12   Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

Hebr. 12:13   And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Hebr. 12:14   Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Hebr. 12:15   Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

The waters of Marah - No real trust in God or His power or sovereignty.

Exod. 15:22   So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

Exod. 15:23   And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

Exod. 15:24   And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

Exod. 15:25   And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

Exod. 15:26   And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Gall = Opium  =  Addicted to bitterness because of some perceived unfair circumstance. We all have these. Do we respond with trust and faith or in bitterness, blaming others and God for our unfair life. In fact, it gives us a dulling of the pain to assign the  blame to someone else. This is part of the addiction.

Tree = Cross of Christ that can purify us - Process, not event

1Tim. 1:5   Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

1John 3:2   Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1John 3:3   And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Acts 8:20   But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Acts 8:21   Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

Acts 8:22   Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Acts 8:23   For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

Eph. 4:21   If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

Eph. 4:22   That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Eph. 4:23   And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Eph. 4:24   And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Eph. 4:31   Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Eph. 4:32   And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Eph. 5:1   Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Eph. 5:2   And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Bitterness as defense mechanism

Hebr. 10:19   Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Hebr. 10:20   By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Hebr. 10:21   And having an high priest over the house of God;

Internalized process of the Spirit, not the flesh

Trials and tribulations

1Pet. 4:12   Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

1Pet. 4:13   But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Num. 31:23   Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.

Mal. 3:2   But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Mal. 3:3   And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Trials come to us to purify us and build patience and holiness and he removes the dross.

How we deal with them is very important.  We can either internalize them and let them become bitter or let the dross become burnt off.

Sulfer is burnt off and it really smells bad.
