Expectations and Resolutions

Rom. 8:17   And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together   18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.   19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.   20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,   21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

1) anxious and persistent expectation

Ps. 9:18   For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

Ps. 62:5   My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Prov. 10:28   The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Prov. 11:7   When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

Prov. 11:23   The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Prov. 23:17   Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.  For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Prov. 24:13   My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 14   So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. 15   Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place: 16   For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. 17   Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18   Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Jer. 29:8   For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.   9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.   10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.   11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.   12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.   13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.   14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

Phil1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,   20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.   21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.   22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
