First, Know The Lord

Eph. 3:16   That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Eph. 3:19   And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Knowing speaks not only of a mind knowledge or some understanding of scripture and fact, but rather knowing through experience His bride. This is the intimate knowledge that scripture talks of being shared between a husband and wife.

Gnosko – Greek word indicating an intimate knowledge beyond that of the head. Some may call this heart knowledge or a personal relationship.

This is also the first of everything that we need to know. Him. Not things and stuff, but have a knowledge of Him that is so in depth that, when he comes, it will be not be a great change, just the final step in our relationship to Him.

2Cor. 5:16   Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

2Cor. 5:17   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

John 17:3   And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

There is a place where we understand the difference between knowing Him and knowing about Him.

Rev. 7:9   After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Rev. 7:10   And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Hosea 2:20   I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

Hosea 6:3   Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
