Old Man Versus New Man

Rom. 6:4   We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Rom. 6:5   If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.

Rom. 6:6   For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--

Rom. 6:7   because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Rom. 6:8   Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

Rom. 6:9   For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

NIV TEXT Rom. 6:4   Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Rom. 6:5   For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Rom. 6:6   Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Rom. 6:7   For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Rom. 6:8   Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Rom. 6:9   Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Eph. 4:21   If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

Eph. 4:22   That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Eph. 4:23   And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Eph. 4:24   And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col. 3:8   But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Col. 3:9   Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Col. 3:10   And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Col. 3:11   Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Eph. 2:13   But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Eph. 2:14   For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Eph. 2:15   Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph. 2:16   And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Eph. 2:17   And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

THE NEW COVENANT IN CHRIST

What is the new covenant written on compared to the old?

What are the actions of God and Man in the new covenant?

Who is the new covenant made with?

Ezek. 18:31   Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Ezek. 11:19   And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

Ezek. 36:26   A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

2Cor. 5:16   Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

2Cor. 5:17   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2Cor. 5:18   And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2Cor. 5:19   To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Mark 14:24   And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

2Cor. 3:5   Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

2Cor. 3:6   Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Hebr. 8:10   For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hebr. 8:11   And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Hebr. 8:12   For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebr. 8:13   In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Hebr. 9:1   Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

Hebr. 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;   12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Rev. 2:17   He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Rev. 3:12   Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Rev. 21:5   And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
